New products and next versions
Mechanical products, consumer and industrial items, assemblies and components. Concept, 3D CAD, prototype, test, then production-ready drawings.
▌ 02 · Product R&D
Research and development, prototyping and fabrication of mechanical products, tools, jigs, fixtures and educational devices. One team from the idea to the drawings a factory can build from.
What we make
Krayton is a product-development and fabrication company. Bring a problem, a sketch or a product that needs a next version.
Mechanical products, consumer and industrial items, assemblies and components. Concept, 3D CAD, prototype, test, then production-ready drawings.
Work-holding, assembly aids, inspection fixtures and small tooling that make a repeated job faster and more consistent.
Learning manipulatives, demonstration models and classroom kits for schools and institutions. Krayton develops its own line for elementary math and science.
3D-printed and machined prototypes, assembly and short runs through our partner shops, with the drawings and checks to make them repeatable.
Real projects appear here only with the client's written OK, or when they are Krayton's own products.
How it works
Every stage ends with a deliverable in your hands and a decision: go on, change course, or stop. You never pay for a stage you have not approved.
What the product must do, for whom, at what cost. We come back with a written scope, a fixed quote for the next stage and the risks we see.
Two or three directions as sketches, then one developed in 3D CAD with first calculations. You review it on screen before anything is made.
3D-printed or machined parts, assembled and tested against the brief. Test results and changes are recorded in dated design records.
Drawings, bill of materials, tolerances and a supplier brief, so a job shop or factory can build it without us in the room. Small batches through partner shops if you want them.
Each stage is quoted and paid separately: 50% to start, 50% on delivery. Materials, job-shop and test costs are passed through at cost with the receipt. Anything that legally needs a licensed professional's signature is done by one.
Questions buyers ask
You do, on full payment: the CAD files, drawings and design records for your product. Krayton keeps its own tools, templates and know-how. If you want us to file a utility model or design registration for you, we prepare the drawings and you file in your name.
Yes, before the first call if you prefer. We also keep dated design records, which help if you later file for protection.
Prototypes and small batches, yes: 3D printing and assembly in-house, machining and short runs through partner shops we brief and check. For volume manufacturing we hand over production-ready drawings and, if you want, help you brief a factory.
Krayton is a product-development and fabrication company, not an engineering firm. The calculations behind a product are part of the development work; where a law or a client requires a licensed professional's signature, a licensed professional engaged by Krayton does that part.
A first prototype of a hand-sized product is typically four to eight weeks from the approved brief. Tooling and fixtures are faster. We give the timeline in writing with the quote for each stage.
Yes. Reviews happen on screen, prototypes ship by courier, and payment is in US dollars by bank transfer or Wise.
